BOUTIQUE GETAWAY TO THE KAROO
Beautiful guesthouse in Hanover. Perfect for stop on the drive from Cape Town to Warden. We arrived later than expected and was phoned regularly from the guesthouse to check we are ok on the road and if we need any assistance. It was no problem for her to wait up for us and welcome us to our accommodation for the night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boutique Guesthouse Hanover with our two little dogs. Rika, the manager of the guesthouse, was friendly and professional. The rooms are beautifully decorated with Karoo chic and the food is hearty home cooked lamb. I have already recommended the guesthouse to my family and friends traveling between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
We had a wonderful welcome by resident manager Hannah. A long drive from Cape Town we were looking forward to a hot bath and relax prior to dinner – our room was beautiful with a huge free standing bath, private patio for our two small dogs who were also made to feel so welcome. Wifi, TV , Fridge with water and fresh milk all ready for us. Dinner was served in the large dining room with roaring fire which gave a cosy atmosphere. Food including breakfast the following morning was delicious . A perfect stop over .
The spacious garden area offers the perfect spot for guests to relax outside their rooms, swim in summer and have a braai.
For those who are not just overnighting, Hanover is a pleasant quiet place with wide streets and a good place to wind down. There is a little hill called Trappies Kop and a walk to the top gives a good view of the town and the vast expanse of the Karoo.
You could certainly spend a couple of days in the area just taking in the serenity of this mesmerizing place.
